Patch 0.29.2 was a minor patch, which fixed some major bugs related to the new matchmaking system released in 0.29.0.
Matchmaking
During the downtime we made major background changes to the matchmaking system, it had a lot of issues related to the new systems made to ensure competitive integrity within Battle Box Arena games. These systems had to be made to properly detect leavers, track past matches, and fairly determine player skill, but these systems did not perform well with the amount of players on the actual server. There will still be some issues, but we should be able to fix these behind the scenes now and have most users not experience problems because of them.
- Added new “No Servers Available” message in boss bar when the matchmaker is waiting due to there being no servers.
- Improved visuals of waiting for game server state to make it clear you are already queued into a match and just waiting for a server to boot up.
- Changed sound effects for queues to have a sound as soon as your match is found and countdown noises only for last 10 seconds.
- Extended countdown for full matches from 3s to 4s so you can hear 3 seconds of countdown at least and aren’t caught off guard by a match starting.
- Reworked matchmaker internals to avoid various internal exceptions that occurred since the last major patch.
- Fixed teams being modified after games had started, making it so leaving the network didn’t let you rejoin at all.
- Fixed team balancing not ensuring teams are of (almost) equal size when games are not full.
- Fixed cases of teleports failing when multiple simultaneous requests were executed.
- Fixed rejoining not working in general.
- Fixed players not being eliminated when leaving the server.
- Fixed desyncs between queue state on server and the matchmaking backend.
- Fixed leave queue not always letting you leave the queue.
- Fixed leaving network, joining plobbies, joining/leaving parties, and switching party leader not always properly leaving/joining the queue.
- Fixed message always saying “You left the queue” instead of giving context on what caused the queue to be left.
- Fixed re-queue button not appearing after rejoining or leaving and trying to re-join a queue.
- Fixed re-queue AFK detection not working if your party members are AFK.
- Fixed re-queue penalties applying when queue wasn’t left manually.
- Fixed error saying party is not ready to re-queue when not in a party.
- Fixed matchmaking visuals not updating anymore if too many users were matchmaking at once.
- Multi-queue menu now defaults to showing no games selected, hovering the queue button has a tooltip explaining how to use the system.
- Multi-queue playlists now get a selector outline when picked to make it clearer when they are in use.
- Fixed multi-queue not properly saving previously used playlist.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed certain Weapon Skins not showing the amount of the item when in the Infinibag.
- Fixed Tier 2 Weapon Skins not displaying the total number of kills when playing a game.
- Fixed certain Weapon Skins not showing in the “Cosmetic Tokens” filter of the Island Exchange.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing certain Weapon Skins from being added to the Infinivault.
- Fixed an issue that caused automated info announcements to be displayed to players mid-game.
- Fixed Weapon Skins not having the tier stars displayed in the Weapon Skin sub-menu of the Profile Menu.
- Fixed an issue that would cause previously claimed Mailbox messages to reappear as “ghost” messages that cannot be claimed again.
- Fixed Noxesium statistic packets not being sent for indirectly incremented statistics.
- Fixed an issue that caused action bar animations to play multiple times in Parkour Warrior Dojo.
- Fixed an issue where crown level was not displayed after swapping lobbies.
- Fixed an issue that caused some players to have permanently flashing badges even though there was nothing to claim.
